The things I learned in the story Sinigang: Be faithful to your partner. Unfaithfulness can destroy relationship not just with the immediate partner but also to the children and relatives. It breaks trust and once trust is broken,it is hard to regain
Be respectful and Obedient. Liza showed respect even to the culprits of her predicament. She became obedient too,by yielding to her mother’s request of going to the wake of her half brother and the fact that she cooked Sinigang, the favorite dish of her father although their emotional ties had been broken.
Be strong. A strong personality, doesn’t mean you’re not hurt. Liza was hurt and betrayed but she remained strong and composed. It showed when she faced her father’s other woman and in dealing with her father and with her mother and aunt.
Forgive. Forgiveness is a divine virtue.This is the heart and mind’s cure to pain and hate. By forgiving, one does favor to both parties: the offender and to himself/herself.
